Bio: Meenu Ramkumar is a junior at Texas A&M University majoring in Economics on the pre-medical track, with a strong interest in the intersection of economics and medicine. She currently conducts research in Dr. Amanda Mahnke's lab at the Texas A&M School of Medicine, where she studies the effects of prenatal alcohol exposure on stem cell behavior and fetal development. Additionally, Meenu contributes to health policy research examining cost-related medication nonadherence among diabetic Medicare beneficiaries in response to insulin cost policies.
Through her interdisciplinary research experiences, Meenu has developed a passion for using evidence-based approaches to address challenges in healthcare accessibility and patient outcomes. After completing her undergraduate studies, she plans to pursue a career as a physician while continuing to integrate her interests in medicine, economics, and research to advocate for accessible and equitable healthcare.
