Sydney graduated from the University of West Georgia with a dual BS in Anthropology and Geology in 2018. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a MA in Anthropology in 2023 where she studied geoarchaeology, peopling of the Americas, and isotope geochemistry. Her primary research focus centered around osmium abundances and isotope ratios within sediments associated with the Younger Dryas cooling event ~12,900 ka.

Sydney joined the Office of Undergraduate Research in August 2023 and leads UGR's outreach efforts and student programming. Sydney works closely with the Undergraduate Research Scholars thesis program, the Undergraduate Research Ambassadors outreach program, and Explorations: The Texas A&M Undergraduate Journal. She also assists with the coordination of policies and activities for summer undergraduate research experiences.
