The Office of Undergraduate Research offers three surveys to accompany the REU programs. We ask that REU directors provide their students' name, email address and institution to participate in the surveys no later than the start date of their program. The first survey is administered during the first week of the program directly to the students through email. The survey content focuses on the application process, moving-in process and selection of the program. The follow up to this survey is administered in the same way during the last week of the program and asks questions that pertain to mentor-student relationship, learning and overall satisfaction. We provide the results to the directors approximately a month after the program ends.
The third survey is the SURE II national survey to assess the benefits of undergraduate research programs. This survey is designed and administered by Dr. David Lopatto, a psychologist at Grinnell College. Information on this survey can be found at http://www.grinnell.edu/academic/psychology/faculty/dl/sure&cure/
The information will be kept confidential and the students' names will never be associated with their responses. They may skip any question that they do not want to answer. For more information or specifics about the survey methods please contact our office at 458-0039 or email us at ugr@tamu.edu.
