A Chemical Engineering Approach to Materials/ Biology Interface by JBrown — last modified 2008-02-12 1620
This Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Site, funded by the National Science Foundation, offers undergraduate students the opportunity to participate in ongoing research with faculty members. The program spans eight (8) summer weeks and involves undergraduate students from Texas A&M and other colleges and universities. While the Artie McFerrin Department of Chemical Engineering is the home for this REU Site, the research projects are interdisciplinary in nature, so we welcome applications from students in related disciplines such as biology, chemistry, mathematics, and the physical sciences.
AERO-U: Aerospace Engineering Research Opportunities for Undergraduates by JBrown — last modified 2007-07-02 1208
Summer 2006 will mark the beginning of a new undergraduate research program in the Aerospace Engineering Department at Texas A&M University, a summer REU Program (Research Experiences for Undergraduates) with funding provided by the National Science Foundation. The program is coordinated with the Dwight Look College of Engineering Academic Programs Office (EAPO) Undergraduate Summer Research Grant (USRG) (http://eapo.tamu.edu/usrg) and the Texas A&M Office of Undergraduate Research (http://ugr.tamu.edu/).

NSF-REU Interdisciplinary Chemistry Research Program by JBrown — last modified 2008-02-12 1442
This program will feature biological chemistry, environmental chemistry, and materials science as focus areas. Approximately ten rising undergraduate students, primarily from small colleges, universities, and junior colleges will be selected to participate in this summer program.
NSF-NIH Michael E. DeBakey Summer Research Training Program by JBrown — last modified 2007-07-02 1208
The DeBakey Institute is home to the only colony of bats in the world dedicated to microvascular research. The research teams will examine the intact microvascular network in the batwing using an experimental approach that is minimally invasive and non-destructive. The DeBakey Institute Summer Research Program provides a unique opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to participate in a 10-week summer research experience sponsored by both NSF and NIH.
REU: Expanding Scientific Investigation Through Entomology by NPriolo — last modified 2008-02-28 1310
During the summer, students work closely for 10 weeks with a faculty mentor and conduct independent research projects in areas including biochemical analyses, DNA sequencing and extraction, analysis of gene expression, molecular marker development, physiological and toxicological bioassays, and stereomicroscopy, compound microscopy, and scanning electron microscopy. Students will also gain experience in applying research results to practical problems while conducting their research projects in their faculty mentor’s laboratory.
